Avengers Assemble!

It seems we have a quest this summer . . .

To meet every available super hero . . .

And today's super hero was Captain America!

Aaron and David had their faces painted, got a balloon animal, and waited in line . . .

Of course, before saying goodbye to Captain America, Aaron had one question for him . . .

Aaron:  Can you get your friend, Hulk, to come?

Captain America:  Well, he tends to be a bit moody at times, but I'll see what I can do!

LOL

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I admit to going a little out of order.  I still owe everyone a post from our vacation from which we returned a week ago, and another little post about our outing to Ship Island with friends, but I'll get there!

Gators Anyone?

Today Aaron and I went to The Gulf Coast Gator Ranch and saw The Gator Boys!

After the show, we took the walking tour, where we saw more alligators and a few tortoises.

I'm pretty certain no further explanations are necessary, so on with the pictures!

Sometimes . . . I Make Things . . .

Tonight Aaron is happily sleeping on a new pillowcase, under a new blanket, both made by none other than . . . ME!  And he is thrilled!

Now to complete his matching curtains!

Another crafty thing I've done this year?  I created what I like to call a Barbie briefcase!

Ever wonder what to do with that new box your laptop came in?  Why not recycle it?  I bought some cute Duck Tape, covered the box, and voila, a Barbie briefcase . . . and a very happy five-year-old niece!

Holy Smokes, Batman!

You'll never guess who Aaron and his cousin, David, got to meet a week ago!

Oh, wait!  Did you say Batman?

Well then, you'd be right!

Batman appeared at a local appliance/furniture store, and there wasn't even a line to see him.  I'm guessing Batman doesn't have the same PR team that Spiderman has!  ;-)  In any case, this worked out well for us!

After meeting Batman, the boys felt it necessary to check out an ottoman . . .

They approved!  LOL

Library Statues

We visit the library (and by the library, I mean any one of the multiple branches that make up our library system) fairly often.  Mostly for movies for Aaron.  He loves the library.  He loves the kid sized tables topped with baskets of crayons and giant coloring books.

But, before we ever make it in the building, he tends to get distracted . . . by the statues . . .

My little man . . .  He's so easy to make happy . . .  Most of the time!

It's Spidy!

What to do on a rainy day?  Well this rainy day, Spiderman was at the mall!  So off we went, Aaron and I, along with my cousin, her husband, and their son.

The line to see Spiderman was long . . . very, very long . . .

We waited one hour and 45 minutes.

And then I got this . . .

As we walked away, Aaron called back, "I love you, Spiderman!"

The wait?  It was worth it!

Pickin' Blueberries

Aaron and I went blueberry picking earlier today.

While some of the bushes were loaded with green berries, other bushes were just loaded with ripe berries.

I found Aaron to be a pretty good blueberry picker, but an even better blueberry eater, eating them by the handfuls!  LOL
I promise he is NOT crying here.  His eyes are half closed in the brightness of the sun, as he crams an entire handful of berries in his mouth at once!

Here we are with our spoils!

Not bad for an hour and a half of picking pretty much by myself, while a certain little boy pilfered from the bucket!
Yes, that's a repurposed Easter bucket.
